Well people – it is Friday! Does anyone know what that means? FOODIE FRIDAY! Ha ha!
This Foodie Friday we are featuring Soul, a southern cuisine restaurant we had a wonderful experience being hosted at in Annapolis Maryland. Ever craving some good southern comfort food and cannot make it to the south? Soul is definitely the next best thing – there was not one bad comment said about our trip to this place!
If you are a southern comfort foodie fan – they have everything under the sun! From their wonderful “lil’ bits” (cornmeal hushpuppies, deviled eggs and crawfish boulettes) to their “mostly veg” (collards) to their “barn food” (fried chicken) to their “seafood” (gumbo and shrimp & grits) – the menu was endless.
When you visit, be ready for smaller portions and full bellies before the time you finish eating because everything you order is sharable for the entire table! Shayla even had to box up her food to save for later because she was stuffed from eating all of that Gumbo (ps – it was her first time trying gumbo and she only had great responses about how it tasted)!
Katie ordered the Country Flank Steak (delish!) and the kiddos had chicken and cheese quesadillas (we shared some with them because the looked so good and tasted even better)! Us ladies indulged in some delicious NOLA Punch that consisted of rum, orange juice, cranberry juice and pineapple juice – definitely a fresh summery drink and perfect for brunch! From the taste of the food all the way to the beverages, the feel of the establishment totally blew us away.
We opted to stay indoors because the weather was extremely warm during our visit, but their outdoor patio area is absolutely gorgeous and who doesn’t love to sit outside on a cool summer day?
A huge thanks so much to Misti and Michael at Soul for sharing your Soul with us. We cannot thank you enough for the hospitality and good vibes shared during our experience. Our waiter was tentative and hysterical, making the kiddos laugh! We really appreciate everything!
If you are ever in Annapolis or Maryland in general, do not forget to check out Soul – it is the perfect spot for weekend brunch, dinner with the family or happy hour with good friends! Have you ever tasted southern food – if so, what is your favorite?
