Making Memories in Orlando

Travel / Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019

Hey friends! We decided to start this blog post off a little differently! Let us know how you liked it. Nothing too crazy, but here goes nothing.
Close your eyes, friends! Well, after you read these next few sentences… haha! And envision your childhood and favorite memories you made! Where did they take place? Answer below in the comments! We are curious if you had similar visions to ours!

For both of us, our absolute favorite memory was growing up traveling to Orlando Florida and visiting all the amusement parks in the area! For those of you not familiar with Orlando or the area surrounding, there is Walt Disney World Parks, SeaWorld, Universal Studios Parks, Fun Spot America, Discovery Cove, Icon Park and Legoland (less than an hour away), to name a few! Therefore, it is definitely paradise for kiddos! No wonder why this is our first and favorite memory growing up!

Well, we actually got to relive this childhood favorite this past month! We packed up our bags in New Jersey and headed to Newark Airport for our flight to Orlando! Once we got to sunny Florida, we hopped into our Mazda CX-9 (such a beautiful seven passenger rental car with so many outstanding features) and headed for the open road to Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive – just a short twenty minute drive from Orlando International Airport! Since it was super hot – we turned on the cooling seats in the car and never looked back – such an awesome feature!
We were all starving so we grabbed a bite to eat at Mia’s Italian Kitchen, right up the street from our resort. We left there with full bellies and nothing but excitement in our hearts! It was a four minute drive from the restaurant to @wyndhamidrive.

When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to see two pools with a hot tub and beautiful plants and greenery all over the grounds. The lobby was bright and colorful with plenty of board games for guests to enjoy while staying at the resort. Also, right in the lobby is a full bar which is definitely relaxing to sit and enjoy after a long day of traveling or post-parks fun! The front desk staff members are super friendly and extremely accommodating. They guided us on a map of the grounds to the location of our building and where exactly we should park our vehicle. And we were off!

We pulled around to building seven which had an awesome view of Icon Park’s Giant 400ft Observation Wheel aka the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye – it was so pretty to see all lit up in the evening. As we exited our rental car, we couldn’t contain our excitement and ran (well not exactly, but brisk walked) to our resort room!

We stayed in a Junior Suite which included a bunk bed – perfect for the six of us!

Since it was mid-afternoon, we all got into our bathing suits and headed down to the pool and hot tub (for the adults) area. Lately, we have seen so many little ones in hot tubs at various resorts, do you allow this for your youngsters or do y’all follow the rules on the signs stating 16 and older? Just curious – no judgments either way! We also sported our Kortni Jean swimwear as per usual!

The pool was definitely relaxing after spending the morning on an airplane and traveling through two airports. We all enjoyed our time splashing around before getting ready for dinner. Since it is the fall and we have some cooler temperatures in Jersey, it was nice to see an outdoor pool (we close all over ours right after Labor Day Weekend) again! It was like we were back in summer!

Dinner was at another restaurant right up the road (3 minutes) from resort, Maggiano’s Little Italy! Twice in one day we enjoy some yummy Italian food and were not complaining whatsoever with the hearty food in our bellies!
It is safe to say, International Drive is in the middle of all the craziness with shopping, restaurants and a short drive to all of the amusement parks. We drove less than an hour to Legoland and only twelve minutes to Walt Disney World Parks while staying at @wyndhamidrive. We were offered a complimentary shuttle to SeaWorld and Universal Studios since we were staying at the resort. The shuttle is awesome in the sense that you don’t have to worry about driving, paying for parking and you can relax while spending time at the parks!

Gianni and Shayla aboard the complimentary shuttle!

When traveling to Orlando, we highly recommend you choose a hotel just like @wyndhamidrive that is so close to all the action and offers a shuttle to take you to and from the parks.

While staying at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive, we were busy! We traveled to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Hollywood Studios, SeaWorld Orlando and Legoland Florida. We stayed for a total of five days and four nights which was the perfect timing if you are traveling with toddlers. We had just enough time to see everything at our leisure and the boys were definitely living their best lives while us adults enjoyed the restaurants and indulged in a drink or two!

Thank you @wyndhamidrive for such a wonderful experience in Orlando Florida! We had a blast and give all the kudos to you for hosting us!

Magical Cheers!

Xoxo
