(Our second stop on the NJ Winery Tour)

“Wine flies when you’re having fun”

This past weekend was our second stop on our NJ winery tour. The Working Dog Winery in Robbinsville, NJ was kind enough to host six of us lovely ladies. We laughed, sipped on some wine, had a little lesson of the history of the grounds, and received a nice tour of the property. We were given the ultimate VIP treatment – how lucky are we?

We cannot say enough nice things about our visit. Mark – part owner and one of the winemakers himself – was our personal tour guide throughout the entirety of our three hour visit. He graciously answered our questions, poured us ALOT of wine, and made us more knowledgable on how his vineyard has become so successful.

A little history of The Working Dog –

The “vineyard” started with five lifelong friends and just three acres of Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay back in 2001. Today, they have over 110 acres and their friendship, along with their business, could not be better.

All of the grapes are harvested, press, fermented, aged, blended and bottled right on site. The Working Dog prides themselves with giving their guests the best possible wine while having the best possible experience. They specialize in their dry wines but is still appealing to those who love sweets.

Over the past several years, numerous New Jersey wines have gained national and international recognition and local wineries took note. Five wineries – Beneduce Vineyards, William Heritage Winery, Unionville Vineyards, Working Dog Winery & Hawk Haven Vineyard – make up the Winemakers Co-op which was created to promote the fine wine movement in NJ.

One thing that stood out to us the most was how well of a job The Working Dog balances a family friendly feel while at the same time captivating a sophisticated atmosphere for those passionate wine lovers.

Due to the winery being so spacious, they have tons and tons of room for everyone! You can bring your own tent, corn hole, etc. and spend the afternoon with family and friends, and even dogs! – yes that’s right – The Working Dog is in fact dog friendly! There’s a beautiful outdoor patio which is perfect for any and every occasion, and is far enough away from the family friendly zone to still enjoy your stay without any kid/dog interference. Every Saturday the winery hosts live music! If you prefer to sit indoors, they have a wonderful indoor space which looks out into the winery, that could happily accommodate bridal showers and other events with ease.

Thank you again Mark, and your team at The Working Dog Winery for your hospitality, dedication, friendliness and passion for wine. We had the best time ever. If y’all are ever in Central Jersey and love yourself some wine – please make sure to stop in and check out this fantastic establishment – you will not be disappointed.

Xoxo –
