Philadelphia – the city of brotherly love – or in our case, sisterly love! What better way to spend your weekend than in one of the greatest cities in the world with your best gal pals? We seriously had the best time ever! Philly is only a little over an hour from where we live in NJ – the perfect distance for a little weekend getaway. We packed the kiddos up and were on our way! Check out our instagram feeds under our “Sonesta Philly” highlights to follow along on our trip! @katheryn_ann  @shayla_mariie

There is just something so exciting about the city life. Driving over the bridge to enter Philly put us in a trance and had us giddy to arrive at our destination – Sonesta Philly. We cannot emphasize enough how friendly and welcoming the staff was. From the very moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles. The Valet service was superb – quick, easy & convenient.

We arrived a little too early for our check in (like we said – we were so excited) but the staff was very accommodating and made sure to have our rooms ready as soon as possible!  So after we unloaded the car, concierge brought all of our belongings to the storage room and we decided to do some sightseeing while we waited for our rooms.

Sonesta Philadelphia is located in Center City Philadelphia in the downtown neighborhood known as Rittenhouse Square – the heart of downtown. Our first stop on our walk was checking out the historic City Hall – absolutely breathtaking! The history alone is enough to impress you let alone the architecture of the buildings surrounding us.

We continued our walk to Love Park – the famous LOVE sign. Of course we stopped to snap a photo, or ten!

After walking for about an hour we decided to take a lunch break and headed to one of our favorite spots – Panera bread! Can you say yum?

We received the call our rooms were ready during lunch so we hurried on over to check in. Concierge already had our bags waiting in our rooms when we arrived. The suite was absolutely amazing – the perfect mix of stylish, modern chic and comfortability. We were on the 21st and 22nd floors – the view was out of this world! The top to bottom windows were lovely.

If we are being honest, the best part of the whole room was the king sized bed. We’ve stayed at many, many hotels and this was honestly oh so very comfy!

A huge perk for us since we were traveling with kiddos was the in-room refrigerator. We unloaded our cooler and everything fit perfectly -Now we didn’t have to worry about the boys going without their juice/milk. Such a relief!

After we unpacked we headed down to the rooftop pool – yes we said rooftop! We grabbed a nice cabana chair and we felt like we were chillen in the Caribbean. Being able to see all the buildings while hanging out by the pool adds to that city life feel. And with the heated pool – we never wanted to leave!

On site was a Ruth Chris Steakhouse – one of our faves – but unfortunately we opted for some Italian food for dinner. But if you are ever staying at Sonesta – we highly recommend a nice steak dinner from Ruth Chris! So delicious.

After the kiddos went to bed one of our good friends from high school, who lives in Philly, ubered on over and we had a little girls night in – with some champagne and macaroons – courteous of Sonesta Philadelphia! It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

The next morning we woke up to the amazing views of the city – it never gets old! We headed to the Art Bar, which is located in the lobby of the hotel, for breakfast. We loved every last bite! Yum!

Sonesta also has a Fitness Center, but after our girls night, we never woke up to test it out – maybe next time! Once we finished breakfast we packed up our stuff, called our friend from concierge, and we were checked out in no time. We cannot get over how efficient and friendly our entire stay was. We will definitely be back!

A big thank you to Sonesta Philadelphia for hosting us. If you are ever in Philly and need a place to stay please check out Sonesta – you will not be disappointed.

Xoxo – Katie & Shayla
